BETTER FOR BEAUFORT
BETTER FOR BEAUFORT
**Why am I running for City Council?**
I am running to build a city council that’s responsive to the needs of the citizens. My goals include Improving communications by making it more of a two-way street, and understanding what people are asking for instead of telling them what they need.
**Why am I the right person to represent Beaufort on the City Council?**
I grew up here and have lived in many neighborhoods including 100 Pines, Mossy Oaks, Battery Point and I now live in Old Commons. I have served as the Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals for 6 years, and have been on the Municipal Planning Commission. I’ve run small businesses within the city, been involved with the construction of homes in the historic district, and have served as the President of the Old Commons Neighborhood Association. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of our community and its core values.
**Lessons from My Career**
As a photographer, I learned to be open to other people’s ideas, work collaboratively, and take criticism with humility. In facing challenges, I have learned to take responsibility for mistakes and turn them into learning opportunities.
